Guardianshield Systems announces a CNC micro-factory for drone and robotics parts in Frederick, MD
FREDERICK, Md. Guardianshield Systems, a DBA of veteran-owned Guardianshield Cybersecurity, LLC, today announced plans to build a CNC micro-factory in Frederick, Maryland, for precision aluminum parts used by U.S. drone and robotics builders. The company's first machining cell comes online in early 2027.
The cell will produce prototypes and short runs of small machined aluminum parts in 6061 and 7075, including motor and sensor mounts, brackets, frame and mounting plates, trays, and small enclosures. It is being designed around machine monitoring, in-process probing, and recorded inspection, with collaborative-robot machine tending to follow.
Why now
Federal law restricts the Department of Defense and other federal agencies from buying drones, and certain drone components, from China and other covered foreign sources.12 A June 2025 executive order directs agencies to strengthen the domestic drone industrial base.3
